What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences and understand how it is used.

Cookie Categories

This site uses two categories of first-party cookies:

  • Strictly Necessary cookies set by Cloudflare for bot management and security. These are required for the site to operate safely.
  • Performance cookies set by Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site so we can improve content over time.

Some third-party cookies may also be set by external merchants when you click an affiliate link, as described below.

Cookies We Use

Security cookies are set by Cloudflare, our DNS, CDN, and bot-protection provider. Analytics cookies are set by Google Analytics 4 (GA4). The specific cookies that may be set are:

Cookie Category Purpose Duration
__cf_bm Strictly Necessary Cloudflare bot management; distinguishes humans from automated requests 30 minutes
cf_clearance Strictly Necessary Marks visitors who pass a Cloudflare security challenge (only set if a challenge is triggered) up to 1 year
_ga Performance Distinguishes unique users up to 2 years
_ga_[MEASUREMENT_ID] Performance Persists session state up to 2 years

Performance cookies collect aggregated data only. No directly identifiable personal information such as names or email addresses is stored in these cookies. IP anonymisation is enabled where supported by Google Analytics configuration.

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregated traffic and performance metrics. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless and is therefore not listed in the table above.

Affiliate Link Cookies

Clicking an affiliate link on this site may result in a cookie being placed on your device by the third-party merchant (for example, Wise, NordVPN, or StreamYard) to track the referral. We do not control these cookies and they are governed by the destination merchant's own privacy and cookie policy.

Your Choices

Strictly necessary cookies set by Cloudflare are required for the site to operate safely. Analytics cookies may be set when you visit the site to help us understand aggregate traffic. You can limit or block cookies at any time using the options below.

How to Block or Delete Cookies

You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser or privacy tools. Most modern browsers allow you to view, manage, or delete cookies through their privacy settings.

Options include:

  • Adjusting your browser settings to block third-party or all cookies.
  • Clearing site data or cookies for this site in your browser.
  • Using privacy extensions or content blockers (for example, uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger).
  • Installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to opt out of GA4 specifically.

Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may affect site functionality, particularly bot protection.

Third-Party Cookies

Google Analytics is operated by Google LLC. Their use of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. Affiliate merchant cookies are governed by each respective merchant's privacy policy.
